Julianne Beecher | Teacher

Julianne Beecher | Teacher

My name is Julianne Beecher, and I love teaching Family & Consumer Sciences! I was born in Southern Utah on the same day/year as my husband in the same hospital! We are both from Hurricane, UT where I grew up with red dirt in my shoes and with the summer heat regularly melting things in my car. After high school, I decided to leave the desert and find out what green hills actually looked like. I packed up and moved to the town of Logan to become an Aggie at Utah State University. I pursued my dream career, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Family & Consumer Sciences–and despite freezing my first winter in Logan, I fell in love with the town, even staying for my first teaching job at Logan High School.

However, the red hills of Utah called me back home to Southern Utah and brought me to Dixie High School in St. George. I taught FACS at Dixie High for seven years, growing and expanding the program. I was so excited to join Utah Online School and have been teaching for UOS since 2018. I love teaching and sharing my enthusiasm and passion for FACS with my students.

Outside of teaching, I devour any book I can get my hands on. I’m also a music nut and adore singing and playing guitar with my family, playing the violin, and attempting the nose whistle. I married my best friend in 2012, and we now have FOUR amazing (and wild) children: Amelia Kate, Henry, Harriet (Hattie), and Charlie. Together, we love hiking, camping, jumping on the trampoline, and exploring the sand dunes–so much red dirt in all our shoes!

Lindsey Manscill | Mentor

I have been fortunate to be a stay at home mom while my kids were growing up, and have been with Utah Online for 2 years! I love this school and the opportunity it gives students to learn in a way that is effective for them, and to help them achieve the goals they have set.

I’m not a Utah native! I am an east coast native born in Virginia and lived in North Carolina for the first couple years of my life. We eventually moved as a family to Kaysville, Utah and I graduated from Davis High in 2003. After High School I worked and met my Husband,in 2004, and we were married in August 2006! We will celebrate 14 years of marriage this year and during that time have had 4 kids, 3 girls and 1 very lucky boy! We live up in Box Elder County.I love living on my small farm but I also love the beach and miss it terribly during the school year! I love to do lots of things: hiking, camping, fishing, UTV riding, swimming, traveling, just to name a few. There really isn’t a lot I will say no to! I love trying new foods and new things. I love my family and all the fun adventures we go on!
